Principles of Assay

This ELISA kit employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique for the quantitative detection of Melatonin in human serum and plasma samples. Endogenous Melatonin of a patient sample competes with a biotinylated-Melatonin for binding to the fixed number of Melatonin antibody binding sites. The exact concentration of Melatonin in the sample is then calculated through a calibration curve prepared by using known standards.
