Overview
Product Description | During blood coagulation, Fibrinogen, a blood-clotting protein, is first converted to Fibrin monomer by thrombin before they polymerize to form clots. When blood clots are broken down, Fibrin clots are digested by plasmin and these fibrin degradation products (FDPs) of different molecular weights, including its final product, D-dimer, are secreted into the bloodstream. The amount of D-dimer is elevated in numerous diseases such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). D-dimer and FDP detection is often used to diagnose thrombosis. ARG30195 D-Dimer ELISA Duos, includes a capture antibody, ARG10503 D-dimer antibody [DD189] and a detection antibody, ARG10504 D-dimer [DD255], for studying D-dimer and FDP expression level by ELISA. |
