Overview
Product Description | Fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) are low molecular weight cytoplasmic proteins that are expressed in tissues with an active fatty acid metabolism, such as heart and liver. Heart-type FABP (H-FABP), in particular, is expressed abundantly in the myocardium. It is released rapidly (within 30 minutes) after a cardiac infarction, with its concentration peaked at 6-12 hours, and return to normal within 24 hours after the injury. H-FABP is a reliable biomarker for Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), and can be used as a marker for reinfarction in the days following the initial onset. ARG30196 H-FABP ELISA Duos, includes a capture antibody, ARG10506 H-FABP antibody [Clone 28] and a detection antibody, ARG10505 H-FABP antibody [Clone 22], for the quantification of H-FABP expression level by ELISA. |
