Activity Note Determined by its ability to induce proliferation in BaF3 mouse pro-B cells transfected with mouse Flt-3. The ED50 for this effect is < 0.8 ng/ml. The specific activity of recombinant human Flt-3 Ligand is > 1.5 x 10^6 IU/mg.
Alternate Names FLT3L; SL cytokine; Fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand; Flt3L; Flt3 ligand; FL

Properties

Form Powder
Purification Ni-NTA chromatography.
Purification Note Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 EU/µg of the protein, as determined by the LAL test.
Purity > 95% (by SDS-PAGE)
Buffer PBS (pH 8.0)
Reconstitution It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration not less than 100 µg/ml and incubate the stock solution for at least 20 min at room temperature to make sure the protein is dissolved completely.
Storage Instruction Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C for up to one month. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening.
Note For laboratory research only, not for drug, diagnostic or other use.

Bioinformation

Gene Symbol FLT3LG
Gene Full Name fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand
Background Dendritic cells (DCs) provide the key link between innate and adaptive immunity by recognizing pathogens and priming pathogen-specific immune responses. FLT3LG controls the development of DCs and is particularly important for plasmacytoid DCs and CD8 (see MIM 186910)-positive classical DCs and their CD103 (ITGAE; MIM 604682)-positive tissue counterparts (summary by Sathaliyawala et al., 2010 [PubMed 20933441]).[supplied by OMIM, Jan 2011]
Function Stimulates the proliferation of early hematopoietic cells by activating FLT3. Synergizes well with a number of other colony stimulating factors and interleukins. [UniProt]
Cellular Localization Isoform 1: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Isoform 2: Secreted. [UniProt]
