Properties
Form | Powder |
---|---|
Purification | Ni-NTA chromatography. |
Purification Note | Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 EU/µg of the protein, as determined by the LAL test. |
Purity | > 98% (by SDS-PAGE) |
Buffer | PBS (pH 7.4) |
Reconstitution | It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration not less than 100 µg/ml and incubate the stock solution for at least 20 min at room temperature to make sure the protein is dissolved completely. |
Storage Instruction | Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C for up to one month. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Suggest spin the vial prior to opening. |

Bioinformation
Gene Symbol | IL36RN |
---|---|
Gene Full Name | interleukin 36 receptor antagonist |
Background | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine was shown to specifically inhibit the activation of NF-kappaB induced by interleukin 1 family, member 6 (IL1F6). This gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
Function | Inhibits the activity of interleukin-36 (IL36A,IL36B and IL36G) by binding to receptor IL1RL2 and preventing its association with the coreceptor IL1RAP for signaling. Part of the IL-36 signaling system that is thought to be present in epithelial barriers and to take part in local inflammatory response; similar to the IL-1 system with which it shares the coreceptor. Proposed to play a role in skin inflammation. May be involved in the innate immune response to fungal pathogens, such as Aspergillus fumigatus. May activate an anti-inflammatory signaling pathway by recruiting SIGIRR. [UniProt] |
Cellular Localization | Secreted. [UniProt] |
