Bioinformation
Background | The adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) were defined initially by their presence as “helper” viruses that facilitated the propagation of wild-type adenovirus in cell culture. In contrast to the large genome sizes of rAd and vaccinia vectors, this virus is much more limited in size, with an insert size of approximately 5 kb. Like other replication-defective viruses, these particles can be produced in packaging lines that provide complementary structural proteins made constitutively by the cell rather than the virus. |
