Application Instructions

Application Note This antibody has been used successfully in Western blot assays (1:100 - 1:500 dilution) and in immunohistochemical identification DILUTION INSTRUCTIONS Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system. STORAGE AND STABILITY This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at - 20°C to - 70°C. Store product in appropriate aliquots to avoid multiple freeze - thaw cycles. REFERENCE Thompson ME et al. 1992. Endocrinology 131: 318 - 326. For in vitro investigational use only. Not for use in therapeutic or diagnostic procedures of chromogranin B (1:100 - 1:500) dilution).
* The dilutions indicate recommended starting dilutions and the optimal dilutions or concentrations should be determined by the scientist.

Properties

GeneID: 24259 Rat CHGB

Gene Symbol CHGB
Gene Full Name chromogranin B
Background This gene encodes a tyrosine-sulfated secretory protein abundant in peptidergic endocrine cells and neurons. This protein may serve as a precursor for regulatory peptides. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]
Function Secretogranin-1 is a neuroendocrine secretory granule protein, which may be the precursor for other biologically active peptides. [UniProt]
Research Area Neuroscience antibody; Signaling Transduction antibody
Calculated MW 78 kDa
PTM Extensively processed by limited proteolysis at conserved basic residues. Alternative processing are seen in different tissues (By similarity).
O-glycosylated.
