Swiss-port # P11279 Human Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1 Swiss-port # P11438 Mouse Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1 |
|---|---|
| Gene Symbol | LAMP1 |
| Gene Full Name | lysosomal-associated membrane protein 1 |
| Background | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of a family of membrane glycoproteins. This glycoprotein provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands. It may also play a role in tumor cell metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
| Function | Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Also implicated in tumor cell metastasis. [UniProt] |
| Cellular Localization | Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Late endosome. Note=This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane. Colocalizes with OSBPL1A at the late endosome |
| Research Area | Cancer antibody; Cell Death antibody; Controls and Markers antibody; Developmental Biology antibody; Metabolism antibody; Neuroscience antibody; Signaling Transduction antibody; Lysosome Marker antibody |
| Calculated MW | 45 kDa |
| PTM | O- and N-glycosylated; some of the 18 N-linked glycans are polylactosaminoglycans. The glycosylation of N-76 is essential for Lassa virus entry into cells. |

Immunofluorescence: U251 cells were treated with Chloroquine (50 µM, 16 hours), then fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.2%, 30 min). Cells were then stained with ARG55142 anti-CD107a / LAMP1 antibody (red) at 1:200 dilution, 2 hours at room temperature. Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 µg/ml, 5 min).
